Szabolcs Matefy

/bio

I was born in 1970, Budapest, Hungary. I had an early interest towards arts, and later computer technology. I became an IT technician, and after 5 years of programming and IT management, I widened my interest to arts and computers, and became a CG artist.

I turned to 3D in 1996, and started to work as 3D artist, at a Hungarian game development company. Since then I worked with various 3D programs and gained experience with them (3D Studio Max, Maya, Softimage). I'm also experienced with ZBrush, Mudbox, Photoshop. Since I have a strong interest in technology, I learned scripting in these applications, and wrote several tools to ease the artists' life at the companies I worked and work for.

In 2003 I started to focus on character art. I studied anatomy at Scott Eaton's online course, to deepen my knowledge, after all this profession means learning also...:)



My hobbies are photography, traveling, hiking with geocaching (google it!), and games.
